It’s raining a LOT here today to the point where I really didn’t want to leave the house this morning. The cat was getting freaked out by all the noise outside and looked at me like I was crazy when I left the house.
I had to change my route to work because the way I normally go was flooded but I am here now and in the warm!

Last night we went outside at about 11pm to see the Perseid meteor shower:
The Perseid meteor shower is caused by debris from the comet Swift-Tuttle.
Every 133 years, the huge comet swings through the inner part of our Solar System and leaves behind a trail of dust and gravel.
When Earth passes through the debris, specks hit our atmosphere at 140,000mph and disintegrate in flashes of light.
We saw about 5/6 shooting stars in the 10-15 minutes we were out. They went so fast that as soon as you saw one it was gone. I would have loved to have got some photos but they were far too fast, a long exposure might have worked but I only had my compact camera with me :(
“The UK SoundMap is a new community-led survey in sound of the acoustic landscape (‘soundscape’) of Britain.”
Sailing probably isn’t the right word if he was using fuel but you get the idea. Plus sail rhymes with fail.
This blog will never run out of material…
Google Street View has been live in the UK for quite a while now but only with very limited coverage. Today Google have updated Street View (maps.google.co.uk) to cover 96% of all UK roads.
The level of coverage is amazing if a little creepy, I can see my house (and everybody else’s houses) very clearly. Judging by the weather and the length of our curtains (about 4 inches too short!) the images were taken towards the end of last summer.
I wonder how long it will be before people start finding interesting stuff like somebody climbing in through someone’s window or women of ill repute standing on street corners?
